Connersville faced off against the Batesville Bulldogs on Monday December 1. The Spartans were defeated 21-46. The Bulldogs played with a lot of aggression and physicality, obtaining most of their points off offensive rebounds and put backs. Despite the loss, the Spartans are still showing growth. Last year this team struggled immensely with the Bulldogs' press break, but this year they were able to execute their press break, forcing Batesville to call off the press early in the game. Luke Myers and Bently Sparks led the offense for the Spartans, scoring 6 points each. Jayce Tibbott contributed 5, and Damien Owens and Xavier Cooley added a bucket a piece to round out the scoring. Spartans are next in action Thursday at home where they host the Hagerstown Tigers.
