Thursday the 8th grade boys lost to Hagerstown 21-32. The tigers are a physical team that applied pressure defensively causing the Spartans to turn the ball over. Turnovers and missed layups were the main contributors to the loss; however coach Gibson was proud of his team for making improvements in small areas he's been stressing in practice such as rebounding, playing team defense, and overall effort/hustle. Jace Tibbott led the way for the Spartans with 8 rebounds and 7 points, Luke Myers had 7 rebounds and 5 points, Koleson Gable and Bently Sparks contributed 3 points each, Damien Owens added 2, and Brayden Bell rounded out the scoring with 1. The Spartans are next in action when they travel to East Central on Monday.
