Connersville

The 7th Red boys basketball team travelled to Richmond Wednesday night to battle the Red Devils and came away with a 34-25 win. Connersville came out and grabbed a quick 12-5 lead after the first quarter of play. The second quarter the Spartans cooled off as they narrowly edged the Red Devils, outscoring them 6-4 in the period. I was happy with our defense in the first half as we only allowed nine points. The third quarter was quite the change in the game though as Richmond came out strong to cut the Spartan lead to 22-19. The Spartans hung tough in the end as they tightened up their defense to pull away again to secure the victory. Leading the way for Connersville was Leo Moyer with 11 points followed by Bryson Walker with 8. Noah Frost contributed 5 points on the night with Desmond Shipman and Harper Buckles each adding 4 points. Anthony Becker also added a bucket to help the cause. Connersville is now 11-1 on the year and host Greenfield Central Thursday.
