May 7, 2026 vs. Rushville Connersville Varsity Spartans could not keep pace with Rushville 6-1 on Thursday. Rushville got on the board in the second inning after Woolf singled, scoring two runs. Rushville added two runs in the third. Cowan singled to center field, making the score 4-1. Despite the tough loss, the Spartan faithful had a historic moment to celebrate. In the third inning, Parker Flanigan etched his name into the school record books. After reaching base, Flanigan swiped his 25th stolen base of the season, officially breaking the Connersville career record for steals. The milestone provided a bright spot in an otherwise quiet offensive night for the Spartans. Woolf earned the win for Rushville. The starter allowed two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Bentley pitched four innings in relief for Connersville Varsity Spartans. The reliever gave up five hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out four and walking none. McMullen took the loss for Connersville Varsity Spartans. The starting pitcher went three innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, striking out two and walking two. Miller and Ellis were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Connersville Varsity Spartans while hitting back-to-back. Miller went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Rushville tallied 11 hits in the game. Thompson, Woolf, Campbell, and Coon each collected two hits for Rushville. Cowan and Woolf each drove in two runs for Rushville. Rushville were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Coon made the most plays with six. Connersville Varsity Spartans will travel to New Palestine for their next game on Friday.
