The Boys Golf team squared off against visiting New Castle on Thursday evening at Arbor Crossing Golf Club, and honored their 5 Seniors. Playing on wet soil throughout the day, the Spartans did not disappoint, coming away with a 174-180 victory. Leading the way for the Spartans were Seniors Talon Sherwood and Trey Hughes, each with an event-low 42. Seniors Aiden Gibbs and Logan Young both finished with a 45. Junior Levi Marszalek (49) and Senior Brandt Lykins (68) also competed for the Spartans. I know the boys were disappointed in their scores tonight, but these conditions are tough to be consistent in, especially when playing the ball down. Talon stepped up big-time for us tonight, and that's what we expect out of him. I have coached these kids for a long time. It's humbling to be their coach. You cannot ask for a better group of boys. They work hard, have great attitudes, never miss practice, and are each incredible golfers. They all do the little things it takes to be successful. It is an honor to be their coach. The Spartans continue their busy week, completing at home this evening, hosting North Decatur with the match beginning at 5:00.
