The Connersville Lady Spartans celebrated Senior Night in style Thursday evening, welcoming EIAC rival Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers for a memorable matchup. For one night only, both teams agreed to move away from the traditional varsity format of three singles and two doubles matches, instead competing in four singles and three doubles contests to allow more players the opportunity to compete on the special night. The Spartan seniors rose to the occasion, delivering an emotional and impressive performance in front of family, friends, and fans. With the reality of their high school careers nearing an end, the evening served as a showcase of the dedication and hard work these athletes have poured into the program over the years. Strong serving, fierce volleys, and powerful groundstrokes powered Connersville to victories in six of the seven varsity matches. With the win, the Lady Spartans improved to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in EIAC play. The junior varsity team also had a strong night, improving to 7-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference action. At No. 1 singles, senior Sophia Starr defeated Nina Bostic 6-1, 6-3. Senior Bella Starr earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sam Airgood at No. 2 singles, while Amielya Mays picked up the 6-0, 6-1 win against Emily Shelton at No. 3 singles. At No. 4 singles, senior Abby Keal battled in one of the most exciting matches of the evening before falling in a heartbreaking 4-6, 6-0, 8-10 decision to Bella Short. In doubles action, the No. 1 team of seniors Cameron Butts and Trinitee Steele dominated Ava Myers and Estella Shealy 6-0, 6-0. The No. 2 doubles team of seniors Maddie Harrison and Ella Miller earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Tessa Stoops and Rowan Ziegler. At No. 3 doubles, senior Sophie Neal and Tessa Kelley secured a 6-2, 6-1 win against Mya Kennedy and Brylie Scheffeld. In junior varsity play, Cat Graves won 6-0 at No. 1 singles against Scarlett McCarroll, while Frances Kelly posted a 6-0 victory over Emery Ballew at No. 2 singles. Payton Dice added another win for the Spartans with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles against Scarlett McCarroll
