This Tuesday (9.22.26) your CMS Lady Spartans traveled to Richmond Premier Soccer Club fields to scrimmage RPSC Pony Tail Power. This is the second year the teams have collaborated to scrimmage and get their players extra playing time, hopefully this joint process can continue in the future. The game started very back and forth, with both teams playing very direct and exchanging runs into each others attacking halves. As the half wore on, the Lady Spartans seemed to be gaining an edge in possession and possessing the ball in the attacking half of the field. Unfortunately, Pony Tail Power ended up scoring off of a quickly taken throw in, and the half ended 1-0. The second half started with roughly eight minutes of sustained Spartan pressure. Attacking runs, pressing when they lost the ball, forcing turnovers, and creating chances. This stretch was by far the best run for the Lady Spartans during the scrimmage. As the half wore on, it became a little more even but with the Lady Spartans still maintaining an edge in possession. Unfortunately, with all of the chances created, the girls were unable to put the ball in the back of the net, and the game ended 1-0.
