The Connersville boys and girls cross country teams competed in their first and only home invitational of the season on Saturday, welcoming Richmond, Rushville, East Central, Union Modoc, and Franklin County to Connersville. Senior Hunter Bales was recognized for his four years of commitment to CHS Cross Country. Bales capped off his final home meet as a Spartan with an impressive performance, completing the 5K in 20:53.08. Junior Colton Hammons turned in a strong performance, setting a new personal best with a time of 23:53.41. Freshman Connor Evans also recorded a personal best, crossing the finish line in 25:16.86. On the girls side, freshman Caroline Roberts led the Spartans with an impressive eighth-place overall finish, completing the 5K in 23:26.19. The Spartan Cross Country team will be back in action on October 1 in Greensburg for its final invitational before the conference meet.
